The RM 68-01 Tourbillon Cyril Kongo is a limited edition of just 30 pieces, born from a groundbreaking collaboration between Richard Mille and street artist Cyril Kongo. More than a timepiece, it serves as a miniature canvas where haute horlogerie meets contemporary urban art. For the first time, Kongo’s bold visual language, usually seen on large-scale murals, has been translated into the delicate mechanics of a manual-winding tourbillon movement.
Over a year of research was dedicated to developing a special airbrush technique that allowed Kongo to paint directly onto the movement’s titanium components, one droplet at a time. The weight and adhesion of the paint had to be precisely controlled to preserve the balance and functionality of the calibre. The result is a vibrant, three-dimensional artwork where every angle reveals an explosion of color and dynamic motion—echoing the energy of graffiti.
Encased in a Carbon TPT® caseband with black ceramic bezels, the watch’s asymmetrical design enhances its bold character, tapering both in width and height. The RM 68-01 is a true fusion of visual and mechanical artistry, pushing the boundaries of traditional watchmaking and turning a precision instrument into a wearable, kinetic masterpiece.
